Is the University of Phoenix-(campus classes) legit? Is the school accredited?
HotPink asked:
I want to do Masters in Psychology and this school has this but the program is more general rather than having some specialization. It’s definitely not clinical. Anyways, can I be a highschool counselor with such a degree. Is it valid for me to get my liscense and experience for becoming a counselor? Help??? Thanks!
Wow..you guys are really helpful!

What does a mental health counselor do?
agnosticdwarve asked:
Most colleges over this separatly from getting a masters in counseling so I wasn’t sure what it all entailed. I will have a psychology degree next May but I don’t want to go to grad school b/c I have no idea what I want to do with. I don’t want to spend the time getting a higher degree in counseling or clinical b/c I’m not interested in that. I’m just a bit confused on the difference between a masters in counseling and a masters in mental health counseling.

Is there any help for a single, low-income woman with depression and no children living in the home?
mnlacour1969 asked:
I need help! I have clinical depression, no insurance, no job, and no bank account. Does any place exist that can offer very affordable insurance for someone like me (general, mental, perscription, dental, and e.r.)? I also need help with finding an affordable yet competent counselor or theropist. I was going to my local mental health clinic, but the only real help I was getting was the medication, the counseling sucked rocks (was more confused with couseling than trying to figure things out on my own). I haven’t got a clue where to go or what to do. I’m not married, I can’t find a job, my sons don’t live with me, I live with my grandfather because I can’t afford to take care of myself let alone live alone, a lying jerk over-drafted my bank account and got me in so much debt that I had to cancel it, I have not one friend, and there is no one I can turn to for help in my family. If anyone can stear me in some kind of direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

What’s the difference between these occupations?
weirddna.weirddna asked:
Therapist, Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist, Counselor
I need to see someone about depression, social anxiety, and a complete lack of self-esteem, all most likely stemming from abuse as a child. Medication is an option, but not the first thing I want to try.
