My Rehab Counselor Only Had 12 Days of Education? How Is He Qualified?

Rachel asked:

I was convicted of underaged as a teenager. I went to an outpatient rehab in which the counselors repeatedly used the “f-word.” For example they went around the room and asked “Do you drink to get effed up?” The counselor also called me a b-word.

The counselors all had a “CAC-1″ Qualification. I looked at this website. http://www.odysseycenter.com/courses/cac/CAC-3.htm

The education for a CAC-1 is only two weeks!

I am finishing up for undergrad and am applying to a PhD program this fall. I am going to be a clinical psychologist and I would NEVER use the f-word so frequently to my patients. They used all kinds of swear words–Words I had never heard of!

What do you think of that? I had an extremely bad experience with that rehab. Can I use my negative experience to strengthen me to be the best psychologist I can be? I will know how much it hurt me so I will never ever treat my patients like that. I believe that everyone deserves respect, even teens that experiment with alcohol.

Thoughts?
Sorry typo: Underaged drinking.
